Journey to Bethlehem Christmas Curriculum - Follow The Star To Bethlehem This Christmas

Use this fun Christmas Curriculum for kids to look at the journey of 4 different characters who traveled to Bethlehem for the very first Christmas.  Kids will look at the journeys that Joseph, the Shepherds and the Wise Men took to get to Bethlehem.  But, as far as they all traveled, kids will see that Jesus traveled the farthest and gave up the most to be in Bethlehem on that first Christmas. 

God brought very different people together in Bethlehem to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Little ones will learn that Jesus is the reason we celebrate Christmas.

Journey To Bethlehem Preschool Ministry Curriculum Lesson Overview: 

Memory verse: “Glory to God in the highest heaven.” Luke 2:14a (NIrV)

Joseph - The Faithful One

Matthew 1:18-25

Summary: God chose Joseph to be Jesus’ earthly father. Joseph knew it wouldn’t be easy, but he was faithful. We can be faithful too by obeying God.

Objective: Little ones will say, “Be faithful to God.” 

The Wise Men - The Watchful Ones

Matthew 2:1-12

Summary: The Wise Men knew the baby Jesus had been born because they had studied God’s Word. We can also honor God, by listening to what God says.

Objective: Little ones will say, “Listen to God.” 

The Shepherds - The Lowly Ones

Luke 2:8-20

Summary: God wants everyone to come meet Jesus. That’s why he invited lowly shepherds instead of fancy people to see the baby Jesus. God loves everyone no matter who they are.

Objective: Little ones will say, “God loves everyone.” 

Baby Jesus - The Most Important One

Luke 2:1-7

Summary: God gave us Jesus to be our Savior. He travelled the furthest and gave up the most to come to that first Christmas in Bethlehem. He did because He loves us and wants all of us to accept Him as our Savior. 

Objective: Little ones will say, “Jesus is our Savior.”
