Let it Shine, Let it Shine, Let it Shine
A dark room can seem scary and make us feel alone. But you know what makes it better? A nightlight! Jesus tells us that he is the light of the world. When we become a friend of Jesus, he gives us his light. That not only makes our lives better, but we can then share how good Jesus is with our friends so he can make their lives better too! We can shine that light all over the world. In This Little Light 4-Week Preschool Ministry Curriculum, kids will learn, “I can shine with the light of Jesus.”
This Little Light Preschool Ministry Curriculum Lesson Overview:
Memory Verse: “Let your light shine so others can see it.” Matthew 5:16b (NIrV)
Lessons:
This Big Light
Scripture: John 8:12-19, I Am the Light of the World
When we become Jesus' friend, he fills us up and makes our life bright. Just like a nightlight in a dark room, Jesus is the Light of the World. We can have his light when we believe in him and become his friend.
Objective: Kids will say, “Jesus is the Light of the World.”
This Little Light
Scripture: Matthew 5:13-16, Salt and Light
Jesus said that he is the light of the world. Jesus also said that his friends can be the light of the world too by telling people how good Jesus is. Jesus is the big light, and each of us – his friends – are little lights that shine for him.
Objective: Kids will say, “I can share the light of Jesus.”
Shine Everywhere
Scripture: Acts 1:6-11, Jesus Goes Up To Heaven
After Jesus came back to life and walked out of the tomb, he appeared to his friends. He told his friends to share the good news about God’s love to everyone, everywhere; then he went up into heaven. Those of us who have the light of Jesus can share the good news with everyone we meet.
Objective: Kids will say, “I can shine my light to everyone.”
Let it Shine, Let it Shine
Scripture: Acts 8:26-39, Philip and the Ethiopian
Philip was someone who placed his faith in Jesus. As a believer, he would shine his light wherever he would go. One day, God told him to go to a particular road. There, Philip met another man and told him all about Jesus. When we shine our light wherever we go, others will get the light of Jesus too.
Objective: Kids will say, “I'll shine my light wherever I go.”
