Toys Teach Us About Serving God

Every day, we have a choice, to do things our way or to do things God's way. In this series, preschoolers will see that they can embrace God's way by praying, obeying, trusting and using their unique talents.

Cowboy

Scripture: 1 Samuel 17:40-50, David and Goliath

David seemed like a cowboy hero walking out onto the field to face Goliath. But David didn't do it on his own. He trusted in God for strength and courage. We can pray to God for whatever we need. 

Objective: Little ones will learn “every day, I can pray.”

Space Ranger

Scripture: Genesis 6:9-22, Noah Builds the Ark

The space ranger needs his rocket ship to get through space. God told Noah that if he was going to survive the coming flood, Noah would have to build a ship of his own: an ark. Noah obeyed God and was saved. 

Objective: Little ones will learn “every day, I can obey.” 

Slinky

Scripture: Judges 6:36-40, 7:19-22, Gideon's Army

It's fun to stretch and pull on the spring-like Slinky. Gideon might have felt like he was stretched too far, when God commanded him to go into battle with only 300 soldiers. But Gideon did things God's way. . . and God helped him win! 

Objective: Kids will learn “every day, I can trust God's way.”

Mr. Potato Head

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:12-19, The Body of Christ

Those who follow Jesus are part of the Body of Christ. Each member of the Body of Christ is important and unique and has a role to play. God gives us each different abilities that we can use to show love to God and other people.

Objective: Kids will learn “every day, I have a part to play.”
