Lessons:

Soak It Up Like a Sponge
Scripture: Psalm 119:9-12, God's Word
The Bible is not just some collection of old stories; it is the Word of God. It is designed to help us learn who God is, how he loves us, and how we can follow him. We need to soak it up like a sponge.
Objective: Kids will say “The Bible is the Word of God.”  

On The Deck
Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:4-9, The Lord is One
The Word of God isn't just something you read here and there. It is something you study, and you talk about when you go for a walk. Something that you talk about at school and at home. Something that you remember when you wake up in the morning and before you go to bed at night. When you climb the rigging or swim in the ocean or stay on deck.
Objective: Kids will say “I will fill my life with the Word of God.”

Flop Like a Fish
Scripture: James 1:22-25, Doing What the Word Says
Someone who knows what the Word of God says, but then goes away and does the opposite is like a fish flopping around on the dry ground. We need to live out the word. We need to learn God's word and then do what it says.
Objective: Kids will say “I will do what the Word of God says.”

Aye, Aye Captain
Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:10-17, Final Charge to Timothy
Timothy looked up to Paul, like a captain. Paul told Timothy: The Word of God can help us get on the right path when we have gone astray. The Word of God can also help us stand firm when we are persecuted. The Word of God encourages us, corrects us, and trains us.
Objective: Kids will say “The Word of God is what I need to live a full life.”
