Catching Some Fish
Scripture: Luke 5:1-11, The Calling of the First Disciples.
Nothing passes the time quite like going out and catching fish. Little ones will learn that we've been called to help people catch the good news of Jesus.
Objective: Little ones will learn “I can follow Jesus and help others follow Jesus.”
Putting Up the Tent
Scripture: Mark 9:2-13, The Transfiguration.
We must pay careful attention to pitch our tents just right. Little ones will learn that Jesus deserves our attention.
Objective: Little ones will learn that Jesus is more important than anything.
Setting Out Your Sleeping Bag
Scripture: Matthew 8:18-22: The Cost of Following Jesus.
When you're “roughing it” you have to give up your warm house and comfortable bed. Little ones will learn that following Jesus means being willing to give up everything for God.
Objective: Little ones will learn following Jesus means I may not always get what I want.
Going on a Hike
Scripture: Luke 10:1-17, Jesus Sends Out the Seventy-two
During your trip, it's nice to go out to the hiking trails and explore nature. Little ones will learn that Jesus sends us out to help and serve others.
Objective: Little ones will learn they can serve God by helping others.
Making S'mores
Scripture: John 6:25-40, Jesus the Bread of Life.
No camping trip would be complete without fixing up s'mores. Little ones will learn that Jesus is the bread of life that makes us complete. Just like we need food every day, we also need God every day.
Objective: Little ones will learn that they can pray to God every day.
Singing Campfire Songs
Scripture: Luke 19:28-40, The Triumphal Entry.
Nothing's more joyful than singing songs under the stars. Little ones will learn that they should praise Jesus joyfully.
Objective: Little ones will learn they can praise God and thank Him every day.
Telling Campfire Stories
Scripture: Luke 24:13-32, On the Road to Emmaus.
It's nice to sit around the campfire and tell each other stories. Little ones will learn that we have the best story ever to tell: “Jesus is alive and loves you.”
Objective: Little ones will learn “I can tell everyone that Jesus loves them.”
Keeping the Fire Going
Scripture: Acts 2:1-12, The Holy Spirit Comes.
When the camping trip is over, make sure to put out the campfire is out. Little ones will learn that with the promised Holy Spirit, the fire of good news will never go out.
Objective: Little ones will learn “Jesus wants to be with me forever”.
