Reflecting the Light of Jesus - Don’t Block The Son
Jesus called himself the Light of the World. He also told his disciples that they were the light of the world. During a solar eclipse, the moon moves in front of the sun and creates darkness where there was light. In the same way, when we try to “be good enough” by using our own abilities, we’ll be disappointed. We shine brightest when we reflect the light of the “Son” to others.
_______
Eclipsed Lesson Overview:
Memory Verse:
“Jesus spoke to the people again. He said, “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in darkness. They will have that light. They will have life.” John 8:12 (NIRV)
Bible Story:
Scripture: Acts 3:1-16, Peter Heals a Man Who Can’t Walk
While Jesus was on the earth, he healed many and helped many. When Peter healed a lame man, he made it clear to the people that it was not his power but the power of God working in him to heal the man.
Objective: Kids will say “I can reflect the light of Jesus to others.”

-
Memory Verse - so that you can make sure kids are getting Scripture in their minds and hearts every single week and you can feel like each lesson was a success even when it seems like 90% of your lesson time is spent saying things like "calm down", "let's be quiet", "hands to yourself!"
