The candy cane can help us remember the Christmas story and beyond. The curve of the candy reminds us of a shepherd's crook and the shepherds that visited Jesus the night he was born. Turned around, it can also be a "J" for Jesus. The white reminds us that Jesus was and is pure and perfect, while the red stripe reminds us that Jesus would grow up and die on a cross for our sins. At first, the shepherds didn't know what to make of the angels' visit. But when they went to meet Jesus, they were filled with joy and sweet excitement to tell others.
Memory Verse:
“He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High God. The Lord God will make him a king like his father David of long ago.” Luke 1:32 (NIRV)
Bible Story:
Luke 2:1-20, The Birth of Jesus
