"The theme is fun. The topic - God's Unexpected Grace - wonderful. If you are looking to have a Bible lesson, and then entertain children for the rest of the time they are with you, then I suppose this is a great curriculum. Games, crafts, snacks are all OTHER ways that kids learn and this curriculum even says right within its own pages that the craft, snack and games have nothing to do with the Scripture the kids are hearing. . . that is unfortunate. First rule of child discipleship don't waste the time you have with them by not reiterating the lesson in things like snacks, crafts and games. If I could have viewed the curriculum prior to purchasing it, I would have picked another curriculum. Snacks - We ended up nixing the snacks that were written in the curriculum - the pictures look gross and the ingredients were sugar with sugar, topped with more sugar. Please don't get me wrong, I have nothing against sugar, but a little bit goes a long way! Instead, I thought about each nights lesson and found a snack that tied into what the kids were hearing. Crafts - we used the crafts from the pre-k curriculum and even the school aged kids enjoyed them, with the exception of day four. The pre-k crafts actually had something to do with the Bible lessons. Games - we used the games that were given, but made some tweaks to them to bring purpose to them so they related to the message of the night. Video pack was worth it for the games alone. They were perfect for kids as we waited for everyone to arrive for the evening, and once groups were returning to the sanctuary from the night's activities. But a few of the songs were "generic" and probably caused more questions than anything. We ended up using a couple other songs instead that went well. Our VBS event will be
"Our VBS event will be in June 2026. So far, I love the curriculum. All the lessons are easy to understand for multiply age groups. The skit storyline is fantastic and relatable to our majority age group of 3rd, 4th, & 5th graders. Our middle school youth group loves to participate in these types of dramas & skits.
