Back to School Children's Church Lesson - Back to School Bible Verses

The start of a new school year can bring many unexpected challenges and changes – some may be good and some may not. This lesson will encourage kids that if they memorize Scripture, especially these 3 verses, they can be encouraged to take on whatever comes their way this school year. Kids will learn that God’s Word can help them with any challenge they face this school year.

Back to School Bible Verses Overview:

Lesson:

Scripture: Joshua 1:9, Colossians 3:23, Philippians 4:13

-Kids may face difficult situations in the coming school year. The Bible reminds us in Joshua 1:9 that no matter what we face, we can be encouraged if we remember God is with us: “Here is what I am commanding you to do. Be strong and brave. Do not be afraid. Do not lose hope. I am the Lord your God. I will be with you everywhere you go.” 

-Colossians 3:23 will remind kids that doing their best in school is actually a way we can serve God. “Work at everything you do with all your heart. Work as if you were working for the Lord, not for human masters.” 

-Finally, Philippians 4:13 Will remind kids that they can accomplish great things for God if they rely on God's strength this school year and not just their own abilities. “I can do everything by the power of Christ. He gives me strength.”
