Objective: Kids will learn that Jesus’s birth was promised by God.
Angels We Have Heard on High
Scripture: Luke 2:8-21
New parents cannot wait to tell others about their children. That’s why God sent his angels to a group of very surprised shepherds. The carol “Angels We Have Heard on High” tells how God shared the good news Jesus had been born.
Objective: Kids will learn that Jesus’ birth is good news for everyone.
We Three Kings/ Star of Wonder
Scripture: Matthew 2:1-12, The Magi Visit Jesus
Long ago, God promised he would send Jesus. His prophets listed many signs that would prove God fulfilled this promise. The Magi knew one of the signs - the star in the sky - and they followed it all the way to Jesus. That’s what we celebrate in today’s carol.
Objective: Kids will learn that God wants us to follow after Jesus.
Joy to the World
Scripture: Luke 2:22-38,
Simeon and Anna The carol “Joy to the World” does not mention Simeon or Anna by name, but it’s a carol that captures how they both felt. Both of these people were faithful believers in God, and both had been promised they would see the Messiah. Imagine the joy they felt when they finally met Jesus!
Objective: Kids will learn, Jesus’ promise of salvation brings us joy!
