Finding Jesus' Love!
Kids get excited about seeking out the hidden eggs on Easter morning. By looking at Easter eggs, preschoolers will learn about what Jesus did at Easter to seek us out and show us His love.
Easter Eggs Preschool Ministry Curriculum Lesson Overview:
Memory Verse: “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son. Anyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life.” John 3:16 (NIrV)
Lessons:
Bright and Beautiful
Scripture: John 12:12-15, The Triumphal Entry
Easter eggs are colorful and beautiful – they make you happy. Things were bright and happy when Jesus rode into Jerusalem. The people celebrated Jesus as the king and Savior.
Objective: Kids will learn that “Jesus is King!”
Hide and Seek
Scripture: Mark 14:66-72, Peter Denies Jesus
On Easter morning, the eggs are hidden all around for us to find. When we're scared, we sometimes want to hide like those eggs. Jesus warned Peter that Peter would become scared and would lie about knowing Jesus. Peter didn't think so, but he soon learned that Jesus was right, because Jesus knew Peter better than Peter knew himself.
Objective: Kids will learn that “Jesus knows me!”
Broken Egg
Scripture: Luke 23:32-43, The Crucifixion
Sometimes when looking for Easter eggs you find one that has been broken or crushed. It is sad that the egg was broken, but you may still find a delicious treat inside. Jesus died for our sins. His body was hurt and broken so that we could have a special gift – forgiveness of sins. The criminal on the cross learned that Jesus was broken so that anyone can be forgiven who puts their trust in Jesus.
Objective: Kids will learn that “Jesus forgives me!”
What's Inside?
Scripture: Matthew 28:1-10, Jesus Rises From the Dead
Sometimes you open a plastic Easter egg and there's nothing inside. When the women came to the tomb, it was empty. The body of Jesus was not there. Instead, they saw that Jesus was alive again! Because of the empty tomb, we can have life with God forever!
Objective: Kids will learn that “Jesus is alive!”
