When Nehemiah learned of the destruction of the wall around Jerusalem, protecting the city, he was heartbroken. Instead of wallowing in his pain, Nehemiah nailed it by bringing his concerns to God in prayer.

Scripture: Nehemiah 2, Artaxerxes Sends Nehemiah
Nehemiah felt God was leading him to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem. He knew he needed to get the king's permission and that he needed provisions to get the work done.

Scripture: Nehemiah 4:6-16, Opposition to Rebuilding
Nehemiah and the people of Jerusalem were rebuilding the wall. Israel's enemies wanted to stop them. But Nehemiah knew that what they were doing was right, so he encouraged the builders to push through and fight back, so that God's work could get done.

Persevere
Scripture: Nehemiah 6:15-16 & 12:27-31, Completion & Dedication of the Wall
Despite the opposition, Nehemiah and his workers persevered and completed the wall in just 52 days. Those who do their work for the Lord, and persevere to the end, will be greatly blessed.
