Facing the Unexpected
Scripture: Job 1:1-3, 1:13-22, Job Loses Everything
When we venture out into the world, we don't know what will come our way. Job had it all, and then one day he lost it all. But he never stopped praising God.
Objective: Kids will say “I can praise God through the good times and the bad times.”
Staying Healthy
Scripture: Job 2:1-10, Job is Afflicted
We want to stay physically and mentally healthy, but sometimes we get sick or feel depressed. Satan afflicted Job with sores all over his body. Despite his pain, Job knew that God was bigger than his problems.
Objective: Kids will say “I can remember God is bigger than my problems.”
Failing the Test
Scripture: Job 11:1-6, Friend Accuses & Job 12:10-18, Job Answers
The big test is today – what if I fail! Job's friends told him that God was testing Job. And he was failing! Job was determined to stay true to what he knew was right, even if he didn't have all the answers.
Objective: Kids will say “I can work my best and trust God for the rest.”
Bullies
Scripture: Job 32:1-9 & 34:31-37, Elihu Bullies Job
We might face bullies at school or online. Bullies don't tell us the truth. Job's friends had been misguided in what they said to Job, but they tried their best. Elihu, on the other hand, was just a bully. Only God tells us the whole truth about who we are and how much we are love by Him.
Objective: Kids will say “I can trust God's love and faithfulness to me.”
Is God Really There?
Scripture: Job 38:1-7 & Job 42:1-16, The Lord Speaks
When Job was just about at the end of his rope, wondering if God was really there, he heard the voice of God. We may not hear the voice of God, but He has promised to never leave us. God will show us in special and unexpected ways that he is really there.
Objective: Kids will say “I can rest easy knowing that God is really there.”
