Bible Puzzles 4-Week Preschool Ministry Curriculum Overview

Memory Verse: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Love him with all your strength.” Deuteronomy 6:5 (NIRV)

    Lessons:

    The Only God

Scripture: 1 Kings 18:18-39, Elijah on Mount Carmel

In Elijah’s time, lots of people stopped believing in God.  They started believing that statues they made were gods and they worshipped the statues instead of worshipping God. Elijah was one of the only people who still worshipped God and believed in Him.  Elijah asked many of the people who were worshipping the statues to meet him on Mount Carmel.  He challenged them to contest to prove that God is the only God there is.

Objective: Kids will learn there is only one God.

    The Powerful God

Scripture: Joshua 6:1-20, The Fall of Jericho

God promised the Israelites a wonderful new home in the Promised Land. But to get there, they had to go through the city of Jericho which was known for it’s huge walls that were impossible to get through. The Israelites soon learned though, that nothing is stronger or more powerful than God.

Objective: Kids will learn that God is powerful.

    The Loving God

Scripture: Exodus 17:1-7, Water from the Rock

The people in the desert had no water to drink. They were thirsty; they thought maybe God didn't care about them. But God loves us! He cares about his people and provided them water in a most spectacular way.

Objective: Kids will learn that God loves us.

    The Wonderful God

Scripture: Acts 16:25-34, Paul and Silas in Prison

Even though they were in trouble for telling people about Jesus, Paul and Silas praised God – praying and singing songs – from their prison cell. When an earthquake freed them from their chains, they did not leave. Instead they told the jailer about Jesus, so that he could praise God too.

Objective: Kids will learn that God deserves praise!
