Sweet Rewards Ahead

Silly Swonka makes the best candy bars and sweet treats around; all the kids want to tour his Sweet Shop Sugar Factory. Seeing inside the factory will show kids that there is no one sweeter than Jesus, and if we put our trust in Him, he will bring us into a new life and, one day, a new home, heaven.

_______

Candy Factory Lessons Overview

MEMORY VERSE:

“I heard a loud voice from the throne. It said, “Look! God now makes his home with the people. He will live with them. They will be his people. And God himself will be with them and be their God.” Revelation 21:3 (NIRV)

Lessons:

Silly Swonka's Sweet Shop

Scripture: Revelation 21:1-7, The New Heaven and New Earth

Every kid in town wants to get inside Silly Swonka's Sweet Shop and see the amazing workings of the factory. But only a select few ever make it inside. Nothing compares to the amazing sight of the new heaven and new earth which God will bring about one day. Every one who puts their faith in Jesus and follows him, will get in, and will get to spend forever with Jesus.

Objective: Kids will learn “We can have eternal life only through Jesus.”

Gold Pass

Scripture: Luke 6:27-36, Love Your Enemies

Every child wants to buy a candy bar that contains a Golden Pass that will give them access to the inner workings of Silly Swonka's Sweet Shop. Jesus taught his followers the Gold Rule, which gives us access to a joy and a peace that many people never find.

Objective: Kids will learn “We should treat others the way we want to be treated.”

Caramel Highway

Scripture: Matthew 7:13-14, The Narrow and Wide Gates

The Caramel Highway runs right down the middle of Silly Swonka's Sweet Shop. It's a tasty road, but oh so sticky! Jesus told his followers about two roads, one looks good but leads to some sticky situations; the other one isn't as popular, but will take us where we need to go.

Objective: Kids will learn “Following Jesus isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it.”

Oofa Loofas

Scripture: Romans 3:23, All Have Sinned & 1 John 1:8-9, Jesus Cleanses Us

Silly Swonka has a staff of Oofa Loofas who spend the day cleaning the sweet shop. The Bible tells us that we have all sinned and made ourselves dirty, and only Jesus can clean us and make us new.

Objective: Kids will learn “We can never be ‘good enough’, only the grace of Jesus can wipe away our sin.”

Chocolate Forest

Scripture: Luke 15:11-32, Parable of the Lost Son

Right in the middle of Silly Swonka's Sweet Shop is a forest full of chocolate trees; it's easy to get lost in there. In the parable of the lost son, Jesus tells us that even if we lose our way and turn away from God, we can return to Him and be welcomed with love and joy.

Objective: Kids will learn “When we repent of sin, God forgives us with joy.”

Everlasting Flawswapper

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17-21, Reconciled by God

No kid really knows what will happen when they suck on an Everlasting Flawswapper: their boogers might turn to candy or their breath might smell like fresh baked cookies. But we do know exactly what will happen when we decide to follow Jesus. He swaps all of our flaws for his goodness. Our imperfection for his perfection. Jesus took on our sins, so that he could give us his righteousness.

Objective: Kids will learn “When we put our faith in Jesus, all our sins are washed away.”

Snoozeberries

Scripture: Matthew 25:1-13, The Parable of the Virgins

If you eat too many of Silly Swonka's Snoozeberries, you're liable to fall asleep where you stand. Jesus told a story about 10 Virgins who were waiting on the Bridegroom to arrive, but some of them were not ready when he appeared. Jesus is coming back one day, and he wants us to be ready for him when he does.

Objective: Kids will learn “We should make the most of every opportunity.”

Licorice Robe and a Candy Crown

Scripture: 1 Corinthian 9:25 & Revelation 4:1-11, Lay Down Your Crowns

The one who runs the Sweet Shop gets to wear a licorice robe and candy crown, but neither one lasts for very long because. . . well, they're candy. Paul wrote that those who follow Jesus will one day receive a crown that will last forever. In a vision, John saw that when we get to heaven, we will lay those crowns at the feet of Jesus.

Objective: Kids will learn “Jesus deserves our love, our faith, our everything.”

_______

Each Lesson Includes:
  • Make It Stick! Parent Sheet - so you can let mom and dad know what kids are learning each week and look like a rockstar teacher who's thought of everything.
  • Memory Verse - so that you can make sure kids are getting Scripture in their minds and hearts every single week and you can feel like each lesson was a success even when it seems like 90% of your lesson time is spent saying things like "calm down", "let's be quiet", "hands to yourself!"
  • Skit or Puppet Show - so you have a way to easily connect the lesson with your hands-on and visual learners. No drama team? No problem! Just hand the script to the kids. They'll have a blast and think you're the coolest.
  • Craft Activity - so you can give kids a physical reminder of the Bible lesson (and give yourself an activity to keep them busy until mom and dad come back!)
  • Game - so kids don't leave and say church was BORING! Games are so important to help keep kids engaged. Our large group games always include a "What's The Point" section to help you connect the game to the lesson.
  • Large Group Lesson - so you can present the Bible story in a clear and fun way, which means now you can enjoy Saturday nights instead of stressing over putting a lesson together!
  • Small-Group Discussion - so you can find out who was paying attention and who was talking to their neighbor.  Just kidding, this is a great way for you to build deeper relationships with your kiddos after each lesson, which means you're going to care about them so much you'll cry like a baby when they graduate and go to middle school :(
  • More! - Yes, there is even more than all of that so that you can easily put together the perfect lesson for your ministry each weekend, which means no more agonizing over how to adjust complicated lesson plans.
