Martha Or Mary?
Moms can often relate to Martha in this story. There are always a million things to do and not enough time to do them. In this lesson, kids will be challenged to first commit to taking time each day to spend time with Jesus and second to show love to their mom by helping her when they can.
M.O.M Overview:
Memory Verse:
“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10a (NIV)
Lesson:
Scripture: Luke 10:38-42, Mary And Martha
Jesus was coming to visit, and that meant there was a lot to do to get ready! Martha was worried and stressed about cleaning the house, making food, and probably a million other things. But Mary didn’t do any of those things. She chose to stop and listen to Jesus. And Jesus said that was better. We can follow Mary’s example by choosing to spend time with Jesus first each day before we do anything else.
Objectives: Kids will learn that “I can stop and pray every day and I can show mom I love her by helping her.”
